Directorate of Archaeological Site Management

The Directorate of Archaeological Site Management was established in 2010 as part of the Department of Antiquities’ development and modernization initiatives, marking a significant shift in the planning, management, and development of archaeological sites. Within the new organizational structure, the Directorate works in close coordination with other directorates to form a unified entity dedicated to the effective preservation and sustainable management of heritage resources, including sites inscribed in the World Heritage List and sites inscribed in the Islamic World Heritage List.
