This museum was built in 1952 and located on the top of Amman Citadel in the center of Amman, and includes collections of artifacts from various locations of Jordan. The objects are arranged in a chronological order from the Neolithic period to the Islamic period. The museum's exhibits include pieces of pottery, glass, metal, plaster, stone, inscriptions, seals and collections of gold jewelries and coins representing various historical periods. One of the most important objects of the museum is Ain Ghazal`s Status, dating back to about 6000 BC.
