• Irbid Governorate

Irbid is located in the North-western part of the kingdom. The archaeological research and excavations have shown that human has settled there about 200,000 years ago which is obvious in : Abu Al Khass , Wadi Al Yarmouk , Al Himmeh and Rahoub . Irbid played an important role during the Greek , Roman , Byzantine and Islamic periods . Irbid has 4 of the Decapolis cities : Jadara , Pella , Guelbeh and Capitolias .
There are plenty of religious sites in Irbid such as companions shrines in northern Ghour , and Byzantine churches all over the archaeological sites , not to mention the mineral water springs in northern Shuneh and Himmeh .
