Al-Shobak Castle

Al-Shobak Castle Al Shobak is a fortified castle on the periphery of the Levant, between Amman and Ayla and was mentioned by Arab geographers and travelers who gave no reason for the name or its source. Al-Shobak Castle is located on a conical hill on the northern side of the Al-Shobak Brigade , about 7 km to the northeast of the center of the new municipality of Al-Shobak, which is an extension of the eastern mountain range overlooking the Jordan Valley, and the height of Al-Shobak Castle above sea level is about (1360-1380 meters). It is located within the following coordinates: Longitude 35.56066 Latitude 30.53039 Among the most critical main elements of the Shobak Castle site: The walls of the castle, the entrance to the court, the outer gate, the lower church, the soap factory, the inner gate, the straight road, the Crusader palace, the Mamluk corridor, the semi-circular tower, the Ayyubid reception hall, the upper church, the vault of the upper church, the tunnel of Ain Maa al-Raghaya, and the Mamluk public building, and the towers of Al-Shobak Castle, and the number of writings and inscriptions found at the site is 14.
